HTHCV Food Festival Project
The purpose of our project was to inform the general public of the food system the U.S is undergoing and how it might affect us in ways you can't imagine. Some topics that we researched in humanities were slavery, food insecurity, CSA, and so on with things from people to animals to plants. Some topics that we researched in Chemistry were the things that people put in our food to make them 'better'. We also learned that there are people that think it's right to feed their animals something that isn't in there diet. A products that we made was food and I think that was a good way to see the different ways that we can use the food that we got to make something good. We became aware of this situation was through all the field experiences and the guest speakers that we have had over this semester, which were interesting to see that the people that we saw had a lot to say for the situation at hand for example a guest speaker named Lorena Gonzalez, or at least a representative did, but she talked a lot about the things that their company/organization are trying to accomplish and what we can do to help. We shared this information with our community through an exhibition that we did on the 12 of December at the Embarcadero in Seaport Village.
