Electronic Subsystem for R.O.V
The controller for our R.O.V is to control our Robot so that it can function underwater. The controller itself is a little box with computer guts so that it would be able to conrol the R.O.V and it can make the robot move its little propellers. The remote control is connected to wires that link up to the R.O.V and thats what enables the robot to move.
In class we learned about parallel and series circuits, electrical continuity, soldering, waterproofing and wireing, and stripping wires. When dealing with series and parallel circuits you need to know which ones are which. Parallel circuits are the circuits that never intersect with each other thus making them parallel. Series circuits can intersect with each other and they share the power of the battery they are connecting them through.
The things I am most proud of are when we actually made the controller work with the propellers and for it to be able to swim through the water and we didn't have to bring it up to fix it everytime it needed to be fixed. The thing I would like to fix is the design of the R.O.V because I feel like if it was smaller and more aquadinamic then we would have been able make it better and able to make adjustments.
